View Date:2024-12-23 16:29:38
A Florida gymnastics coach has reportedly been charged with two counts of sexual battery after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with two young girls.
According to multiple reports, Oscar Olea, 38, a gymnastics coach in Key Biscayne, 16 miles south of Miami, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 28, after accusations revealed that he had sexually abused two of his former students in 2011. The two girls, minors at the time, were age 14 and 16.
Olea started a brother and sister like relationship with the girls at first and then the relationship turned sexual, the youngest victim in the case told the Miami Herald.

After the hearing held on Thursday Feb.29, Olea was held without bond. Originally, Olea's bond was set at $50,000, $25,000 per each charge, according to NBC 6 South Florida.
The local media outlet also is reporting that Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer ordered that evidence related to the case be released before today's hearing.
Olea's arraignment will reportedly be held on March 20.
USA TODAY has reached out for court documents on this case but not have yet heard back.
