Hall of Fame Game: How to watch, stream Browns vs. Jets, date, time, odds
View Date:2025-01-11 09:30:17
After a long offseason, finally, football is back.
At least the preseason variety is. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Game is set to kick off Thursday night, with the Cleveland Browns taking on the New York Jets. And for fans, it's their first chance to see the revamped AFC East squad whose offseason acquisition of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers reverberated through the NFL. Rodgers took a massive pay cut that allows the Jets to have much more flexibility in adding pieces for a potential playoff run.
The Browns are coming off of a 7-10 season during which they finished last in the AFC North. This will be quarterback Deshaun Watson's first full season since 2020, after he served an 11-game suspension last year for dozens of cases of sexual misconduct. Cleveland went 3-3 in games Watson started last season and he posted a 7:5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
As it usually is the case with the first week of preseason, starters tend to rest the majority of the game, if they play at all. Jets coach Robert Saleh has already said that starters will not play and he said Rodgers, who last appeared in the preseason in 2018, likely wouldn't play in any exhibition games.
