So far this year, parents seem to be turning to sci-fi films, hit TV shows, and female athletes for baby name inspiration.
According to the latest data from Baby Center, a website for parenting information, the popularity of certain names has increased.
For instance, Chani, the character played by Zendaya in the box-office smash "Dune: Part Two," has been trending. Similarly, the name Percy, from Disney Plus show "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," is a hit for both boys and girls.
Penelope, Charlotte, Anthony, Eloise, Francesca, and Gregory from Netflix's "Bridgerton" are also becoming hot picks.

Parents love the names of women athletes; oppose names of tech leaders
Since receiving more media attention, parents have been inspired by women's basketball stars, including Kamilla Cardoso and Caitlin Clark, Baby Center reported.
Tech layoffs have resulted in more parents avoiding specific names, such as Jeff and Andy, possibly due to associations with Amazon's founder, Jeff Bezos, and CEO Andy Jassy.
Solar eclipse-related names like Sol, Sunny, Stella, and Aurora also rank higher on Baby Center's list. For the first time since 2021, Eclipse has been on the parents' radar for girls.
